About Barbecued Baked Beans

We’re partial to a barbecue sauce called “Woody’s”. Its rich and tangy hickory-smoke taste enhances the flavor of baked beans like no other sauce we’ve tried. Serves eight.

 1 large can (~32 oz.) vegetarian baked beans or plain pork and beans
 ½ cup diced, sautéed onion
 3 — 4 tbsp Woody’s (original flavor) Cooking Sauce or other hickory-flavor barbecue sauce
 ½ cup grated cheddar cheese (extra sharp is good)
 1 tbsp diced green chiles or
 ½ tbsp jalapeños (roasted, seeded, and diced) (optional)
 You can also throw in a few slices of finely crumbled cooked bacon or a couple of tablespoons of drained, diced pineapple.

Gently blend all ingredients together and place in baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 minutes or until bubbly. Stir and serve.
