Confetti Coleslaw

Be sure to chill the coleslaw for several hours before serving for maximum flavor. Good for eight to ten generous servings.

 Ingredients
4 cups finely shredded green cabbage
4 cups finely shredded red cabbage
1 large grated carrot
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1 clove minced garlic (optional)
¼ cup milk
¼ cup buttermilk
½ cup mayonnaise
1½ tablespoons white vinegar
¼ cup sugar (or 1/3 cup if you want it sweeter)
1½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Generous dash of finely ground black pepper
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
½ teaspoon celery seeds

Directions
Mix all liquid ingredients together along with the mayonnaise, sugar, garlic, onion, pepper, salt, and celery seeds. Add the cabbage, carrots, onion, and parsley. Thoroughly mix then cover well and chill for at least three hours before serving.
