Ingredients
 4 cups walnuts
 1 cup brown sugar
 ½ cup butter
 ¼ cup white corn syrup
  tsp cream of tartar
 ¼ tsp salt
 ½ tsp baking soda
Directions

Place walnuts in a bowl and set aside. Mix together brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, salt and cream of tartar in a large pot. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly once boiling begins. Remove from heat. Add baking soda and stir until settled. Quickly pour mixture over walnuts and stir continually till coated. Pour the walnuts onto a large cookie sheet. Spread the walnuts out evenly, being sure not to overcrowd them. Bake at 200 degrees F for 2 hours. Turn the walnuts every twenty minutes while they are in the oven. Take out of oven and let cool. After they cool, you may need to break them apart. Store in an airtight container for two weeks.
