Episode 715 - Farming for Fine Wines addthis
Farming for Fine Wines
Mike and Diane Furlong just have to look out their farmhouse window to see the corn and soybeans that Iowa is famous for. But these Iowa producers raise vines for wines instead of Iowa’s better-known crops. After years of working off the farm, Mike and Diane decided to get back to the land with a unique vineyard and winery.

Today, their Ardon Creek Vineyard and Winery will bottle several red and white wine varieties. They depend on help from neighbors; on many weekends, the Furlongs are joined by volunteers who help bottle and ship their Ardon Creek selections.
