Episode 710 - Wild Horse Holiday addthis
Wild Horse Holiday
It’s a very close encounter with some of nature’s most striking animals. The Wild Horse Sanctuary in northern California is dedicated to saving wild mustangs, descendants of horses that once roamed wild across the American West. Today, the sanctuary draws tourists who make a full day’s ride up rocky terrain to see the horses in open pasture.

Many of the animals are brought to the sanctuary after roundups by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. Tourists on horseback make their way to the high pastures of the northern Sierra Nevada Mountains and camp overnight with the horses in close proximity.
