Episode 705 - Cattle & Conservation addthis
Cattle & Conservation
The Lightsey Cattle Company sprawls across thirty thousand acres of three counties in central Florida. Marcia Lightsey runs this spread with her husband handling six thousand head of cattle on land that’s also part of regional wildlife preserves.

But Marcia sees her role as much more than just a rancher. Marcia has been honored with awards for her work in acting as sort of an “ag ambassador”, visiting schools to inform young people about the role of agriculture in their lives. She’s also played a major role in seeing that her family’s land is part of regional wildlife protection efforts.
