Egg Production
California is one of the top egg producing states in the nation, generating a good portion of the 75 billion eggs produced in the U.S. each year. In California, some new procedures at one farming operation could affect the eggs that make their way to your breakfast table.

We visit J.S. West, a 150-thousand chicken operation. The large egg producing company is run by siblings Jill and Eric Benson, and they’re making dramatic changes in how their hens are housed. We’ll learn how the family is spending millions of dollars to provide dramatically different cages for their thousands of chickens.
