Barley addthis
Idaho is a major producer of barley. It’s a crop that can be used for many different food products, including malt, which is used to make beer. We head to Idaho to visit a farm that's been owned by the same family for more than a hundred years.

Come with us to Crapo Farms where four Crapo brothers, their sons and grandsons harvest alfalfa, potatoes, and barley. Throughout the years, the family business has grown. Even so, the Crapo brothers still like getting their hands dirty out in the field.

Barley - Fun Fact:
Barley was once such an important crop in Europe that individual barley grains were used for measurement. It’s said that in the year 1305, England’s King Edward the first declared that three barleycorns would equal one inch.
