Episode 602 - Smooth and Crunchy Peanuts
	In Georgia, farmers are simply “nuts” about their crop! That’s because they harvest over a billion pounds of peanuts a year and for this nutty legume, timing is everything! You see, peanuts must be harvested at exactly the right time, so Georgia farmers are getting some extra help with something called the “hull scrape method.”

The University of Georgia Extension Service is helping farmers like Armond Morris with this method. Researches test a small sample of peanuts to see if they’re ready, and then give farmers the green light. Then, it’s time for the small crunchy nuts to be harvested, roasted and turned into smooth delicious peanut butter that Americans love!

Peanuts - Fun Fact:
Americans spend more than half a billion dollars each year on peanut butter. Creamy or crunchy? 60% of Americans like creamy best. Folks at a peanut butter promotion in Oklahoma City created a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that weighed 900 pounds!
