When you think about Christmas does Southern California come to mind? Well, the Paul Ecke Ranch in San Diego County grows and ships the majority of the millions of poinsettia plants that have come to signify the Christmas holiday season. Paul Ryan visits the giant nursery to explore the history of the plant, the great variety of colors and debunk some common myths about poinsettias being poisonous.

While California growers produce the overwhelming majority of poinsettias, the plants are grown in all 50 states. And one historical fact: The ancient Aztecs used poinsettia leaves for clothing dye and the plant's sap for medicinal purposes.
