Jeff Stewart is an investigator for Mississippi’s Agricultural Theft Bureau. It’s a statewide law enforcement unit tasked with investigating crimes involving the state’s farming community. Like a lot of police investigators, Jeff spends a good deal of time doing old-fashioned gumshoe work.

David Monson grows wheat, barley and canola, on 700 acres in Osnabruck, a little town in the northeast corner of North Dakota. But wheat has sometimes been a problem crop for farmers in recent years. So Monson, who’s also a Republican state legislator, wanted to help farmers find a way to switch to another cash crop. He happened to read about hemp.

Jon Tester’s day starts at 5AM. Nothing unusual about an early morning start at harvest time for the heartland’s farmers. But it’s likely that Tester is the only U.S. Senator to start the day on a tractor.

“Farmers against Hunger” is a food security program, sponsored by the New Jersey Agricultural Society. The society is a non-profit organization designed to preserve and promote farming through various activities, including this relief program.
