Dairy and poultry farms produce two important products for Connecticut farmers, but the Constitution State is also an important source of timber and nursery plants. And Connecticut is the place where "branding" got it start. Colonial-era farmers were required by law to permanently mark their pigs. The practice soon spread to cattle.
