Episode 216 - Alaska Potatoes and Chips   addthis
Growing potatoes in the cool wet weather of Alaska is just one of the challenges faced By Alaska potato farmers, but they still make the most of their modest commodity.

Did you know…
Americans today consume more potato chips than any other people in the world; a reversal from colonial times, when New Englanders consigned potatoes largely to pigs as fodder. At the time, it was thought potatoes contained an aphrodisiac which led to behavior that was thought to be life shortening. Potatoes of course contain no aphrodisiac, though potato chips are frequently consumed with equal enthusiasm.
