Episode 209 - Preserving Precious Resources   addthis
Across the Heartland, there’s a growing interest and concern about preserving our nation’s precious farm land.  For financially-challenged farmers and ranchers, there’s enormous pressure to sell their land, often to developers. But a growing movement is underway that’s helping  “keep ‘em down on the farm.”

Did You Know
The land trust movement in the United States began in Massachusetts in 1891. Today, there are well over 13 hundred land trusts all across the country. Many strive to save park land and open space. But many others have been set up to protect agricultural land from development in rural areas.
