Episode 208 - Not So Sweet   addthis
California Almond farmers grow 80% of the world’s almond supply and almost 100% of the United States almond crop- generating more than 1 point five billion dollars a year in revenue. But to pollinate trees and grow those almonds, you need bees, lots of bees!

Fun Fact
That “buzz” you hear when a bee flies by is created by the honeybee flapping its wings more than 11 thousand times a minute. Honeybees can fly up to 15 miles an hour and may travel 60 miles a day in search of food. And bees communicate with each other by “dancing” to give the direction and distance of flowers nearby.
